M.125 - The distal third of the appendix is swollen and covered by a fibrinous exudate; the serosa
is injected and the lumen shows a faecolith.
M.140 - The distal half of this appendix is swollen and covered by a fibrinous exudate; the exposed
mucosa is haemorrhagic in the distal third, but there is no faecolith present.
